July 4th Solemn Votive Pro Patria

On the 4th of July 2019, the Reverend Father Damien Trudeau, celebrated a Solemn Votive Pro Patria Holy Communion at Saint David’s. The parish and vestry were very pleased to come together to celebrate the 243rd anniversary of the founding of our country with a service of Holy Communion. At the service, our country’s flag was presented during the offertory by Mr. Donald Truslow of Afton, VA. Mr. Truslow is a veteran of the Vietnam War and served our country in the United States Army. Join us as we worship according to the 1928 Book of Common Prayer with Holy Communion at 11:00 a.m.

Our celebrant today will be the Reverend Father Damien Trudeau. Fr. Trudeau, 43 years of age, a Nelson County, Virginia native, and a priest of the Anglican Catholic Church Diocese of the Mid-Atlantic States has been serving as a missionary in South Africa since 2005. Fr. Trudeau is currently the diocesean administrator of the Anglican Diocese of Southern Africa, which is comprised of missions in the provinces of the Free State, North West, and the Western Cape. Fr. Trudeau also serves as the director of formation for the Diocese and is resident at the formation house located in Stilfontein, North West Province. Fr. Trudeau has just been reassigned by the Archbishop for another 3 year term to South Africa and will return home on 20th January, after Provincial Synod.

Bible Study at 10:15 — Fr. Ayres will continue our study of St. Paul’s Epistle to the Romans. Our study this week will focus on Chapter 2.
